House & Garden competition

The brief was to design a kitchen and living space for a family of four and their Norfolk terrier. The property was an 1860s Grade II listed, detached, Victorian villa in Sussex. My design has plenty of storage, comfortable seating, laundry facilities and space to entertain friends and family – creating a practical solution with a modern, and elegant feel to suit the whole family.

The brief was to design a kitchen and living space for a family of four and their Norfolk terrier. The property is an 1860s Grade II listed, detached, Victorian villa in a village in Sussex. They are an active family who enjoy a variety of sports, the outdoors, design and architecture, and love to spend time with friends and family. The clients wanted the design to include space for boots and coats, laundry facilities, lots of storage and comfortable seating. Their style preferences are elegant and serene, and they are looking for this area to have a more modern feel compared to the rest of the house. Most importantly of all, the space must be practical.
